Members of nonprofit boards of directors and nonprofit staff serving Harrison County are invited to attend a nonprofit board governance training session in June.

The session, called Building Dynamic Boards of Directors, will be held on two Thursdays – June 21 and June 28 – at the Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF), located at 1523 Foundation Way NE in Corydon. The training will be from 4 to 8 p.m. both days.

Building Dynamic Boards of Directors allows participants to sharpen their knowledge of the most critical elements of nonprofit boards of directors. Participants will learn about nonprofit board development, fundraising, strategic planning, managing change, and other essential topics for nonprofits and boards. Also, participants will be able to network with one another and ask questions.

When participants complete the session, they will receive a certificate. Each participant will need to attend both days of the session to earn the certificate.

Those interested should send a check for $200 to HCCF by Friday, June 15 to confirm a reservation. HCCF will reimburse the individual or organization upon successful completion of the training program.

HCCF encourages attendance at the training session because the foundation requires nonprofits that apply for funding to have at least one current board member who has completed an HCCF-approved nonprofit board governance training program.

Building Dynamic Boards of Directors is presented by June Miller.  Miller is a nonprofit consultant and a BoardSource certified board governance trainer, with more than 20 years of corporate and nonprofit training experience.
