Blue River Services, Inc. used a $7,500 grant from the Harrison County Community Foundation to purchase presentation equipment for its community resource library, located in the Harrison Center.
The equipment--a lap top computer, projector and other audiovisual equipment--will be used to facilitate training and staff development, and to develop professional presentations at meetings and events.
"The Harrison Center Library serves as a resource center, not only for Blue River Services but also for other community organizations that have offices in the Harrison Center, as well as for other community organizations that do not occupy space in the Harrison Center," said Paula Craig, BRS community relations coordinator.
The Chamber of Commerce of Harrison County is one of those organizations.
"Having the new multi-media presentation equipment available for community use will provide opportunities to community organizations that we otherwise would not have available," said the Chamber's executive director, Darrell Voelker.
Blue River Services will allow other organizations to use the equipment on a reservation/sign-out basis, Craig said. The equipment is transportable, and the Blue River staff will offer assistance on the operation of the equipment.
For more information on reserving equipment, contact the BRS human resources office at 738-0776 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
