HCCF gift enables more Harrison County students to attend de Paul School

A gift of $10,000 to the Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF) endowment of The de Paul School will allow more students with dyslexia and related learning differences to attend the private school in Louisville.

William Chandler, a member of The de Paul School's board of directors, made the gift.

"de Paul's endowment funds are a very important resource to enhance and sustain the school long-term," Chandler said. "A recent matching dollar incentive program at the Harrison County Community Foundation offered us the chance to leverage a charitable gift we wished to make."

The de Paul endowment fund at the HCCF was established in December 1999. It is dedicated to providing financial assistance for Harrison County students to attend the school and to provide educational programs and services in Southern Indiana. The de Paul School is a private, independent school for grades kindergarten through eight dedicated to teaching students with dyslexia and related learning differences how to learn. It is located at 1925 Duker Avenue, just off Bardstown Road. More information about the school is available through the Web site, www.depaulschool.org.

Chandler has served on the board of The de Paul School for five years.

"The de Paul School is a superb and special place of learning in our Louisville and Southern Indiana community,' Chandler said. "I am blessed to be involved on the board of directors, and I look for every possible opportunity to support the school in its amazing mission of helping and thus allowing students with a learning difference to reach their full and surprisingly high potential."
