The Harrison County Community Foundation Board of Directors recently elected Brian Churchill of Depauw to serve as its president throughout 2008. Churchill has served as an HCCF board member since March 1997, in most recent years as chairman of the Grants Committee. “Brian has worked hard for this Foundation over the years, and I am confident he will serve as an outstanding board president in 2008,” said HCCF executive director Steve Gilliland.

Churchill and his wife, Kelley, are the former owners of Churchill’s Countryside Farm in Depauw. Brian Churchill recently accepted the position of plant manager for Preston Farms LLC in Bradford. He has an extensive background in agriculture and has served on the North Harrison Agricultural Advisory Board, Farm Service Agency County Committee and has served as Farm Bureau Youth Farmer Chairman. He is a 1979 graduate of North Harrison High School. The Churchills, who are members of Unity Chapel United Methodist Church near Ramsey, have two grown children, Jordan and Meghan, and are expecting their first grandchild in January.

The following officers were re-elected to their respective positions: Qudsia Davis, vice president; Norbert Rawert, secretary; and Joel Voyles, treasurer.

The HCCF board also elected three new community leaders to serve on the 21-member board: Scott Berkley of Lanesville, who is employed by Farm Bureau Insurance; Jason Copperwaite of Corydon, an engineer with Paul Primavera & Associates; and Carolyn Wallace of New Middletown, director of business operations for the South Harrison Community School Corp.

Berkley, Copperwaite and Wallace each served on the HCCF Advisory Council. These newly-elected board members will serve a three-year term and may be re-elected to serve two additional terms.
Outgoing board members are Jane Kraft, Donna Lloyd and Sandy Sherman.
