HCCF Offers Non-profit Board Training

    Harrison County Community Foundation will host the Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNPE) in conducting a comprehensive two-part series on board governance training. This complementary training will be held on Wednesday, May 16, and Thursday, May 17, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Harrison County Community Foundation Conference Room at 1523 Foundation Way. Dinner will be provided.


    These sessions will be conducted by CNPE’s Eric Schmall, a licensed consultant with the Standards for Excellence Institute. Covered topics will include: Board Roles and Responsibilities, The Power of Vision/Mission/Strategic Planning, Board and staff: Governance Vs. Management, Legal Issues, Fund Development, and Financial Management.

   “We feel this is a great opportunity for all nonprofit leaders in the community. This will help all nonprofit organizations gain a better understanding of their role in the community and to better serve Harrison County as well as their boards,” said HCCF Board President Jane Kraft.
