Graduating high school students who live in Harrison County are encouraged to apply for scholarships through the Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF).

The HCCF Universal Scholarship Application will be available the first week of November. This application will enable graduating high school students to apply for the Building Our Future scholarships, Indiana University Southeast scholarships, Founders Vocational scholarships and most of HCCF’s charitable endowment scholarships.

Once available, the online application can be accessed on www.hccfindiana.org by going to the Scholarships tab and clicking on High School Scholarship Opportunities. Applications must be submitted online by 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20. Only complete applications will be considered.

Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit the email confirmation from the FAFSA to be considered. The website to fill out the FAFSA is www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Scholarship recipients will be selected based on specific criteria, using a point-based system. Each applicant can earn points based on ACT/SAT test scores, grade point average, attendance, the type of diploma earned upon graduation, dual credit courses completed, work experience, community service, extracurricular activities, and honors and awards.
