The Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF) invites nonprofit board and staff serving Harrison County to register for July’s session of Building Dynamic Boards of Directors. HCCF encourages attendance because beginning in 2018, the foundation will require nonprofits that apply for funding to have at least one current board member who has completed an HCCF-approved nonprofit board governance training program.
The upcoming session will occur on two Tuesday afternoons – July 11 and July 18 – from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the foundation, located at 1523 Foundation Way NE in Corydon. The session is designed for participants to sharpen their knowledge of the most critical elements of nonprofit boards of directors.
Participants will learn about nonprofit board development, fundraising, strategic planning, managing change and other essential topics for nonprofits and boards. Participants will also have time to network with one another and ask questions.
Upon completion of the session, participants will receive a certificate. Each participant will need to attend both days of the session to earn the certificate.
Those interested should send a check for $200 to HCCF by July 5 to confirm a reservation. HCCF will reimburse the individual or organization upon successful completion of both sessions.
In addition to the July session of Building Dynamic Boards of Directors, another session will be held on two Saturday mornings in October – Oct. 7 and Oct. 14 – from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Please note these dates have changed from the previous announcement. The registration deadline for the session is Oct. 2.
Building Dynamic Boards of Directors is presented by June Miller, Southern Regional Director of the Indiana Nonprofit Resource Network (INRN) and a BoardSource certified board governance trainer. INRN is a statewide service providing affordable, high-quality workshops and board training for Indiana nonprofit organizations.
