Harrison County Access to Recreation: O'Bannon Woods State Park
Harrison County Access to Recreation Photos - O'Bannon Woods State Park, formerly Wyandotte Woods State Recreation Area, lies in the central and extreme southern part of the state, bordering the Ohio River.  It is nestled inside the 26,000 acre Harrison-Crawford State Forest, but is managed separately along with Wyandotte Caves State Recreation Area.

Harrison County Access to Recreation: Buffalo Trace Park

Harrison County Access to Recreation Photos - Buffalo Trace Park, approximately one mile east of Palmyra, Indiana off US 150.  The park is nearly 147 acres including a 30-acre man-made lake with beach. 

 Accessible Amenities located here are:
            Accessible Fishing Pier
            Pontoon Boat
            Beach Wheel Chairs
            Camping Cabins

Harrison County Access to Recreation: South Harrison Park

Harrison County Access to Recreation Photos - South Harrison Park is also known as the 'Best Kept Secret in Harrison County'.  This 220 acre woodland garden is located between Elizabeth and Laconia, Indiana.

Accessible Amenities located here are:
            Automatic Pool Lift and Submersible Chair
            Observatory
            All-Terrain Wheel Chair

Harrison County Access to Recreation: Hayswood Nature Reserve
Harrison County Access to Recreation photos - Haysood Nature Reserve located approximately one mile south of historic Corydon off State Road 135.  This 311 acres of natural beauty was donated to the citizens of Harrison County in 1969 by Dr. Samuel P. Hays.  In 1973, a portion of the land was developed by the Parks Department and the remaining area was preserved in it's natural state.

Fall 2011 Grant Awards Celebration
The Harrison County Community Foundation has awarded $669,418 to various agencies serving the Harrison County Community. All recipients received invitations to a celebration reception at Horseshoe Southern Indiana on September 21, 2011.
